Concept: Digital Renovation | Vodafone NZ

For: Vodafone New Zealand


Vodafone NZ is the leading telecommunications company in New Zealand, holding 42% of the country's mobile market.


To strengthen the Vodafone NZ's position, I have developed new designs and systems that should enhance the visual identity of the brand. These should help customers easily identify official communications (posts, promotions) and reduce the likelihood of users falling for bogus promos or information. The new high-quality and modern aesthetic can also remind customers of the company's own innovative and quality services.


Facebook Advisory

— There will be new imagery that will accompany advisories or announcements made on the company's Facebook page. The design will sport brand colours, typeface, logo, and must also be distinctly different from marketing collaterals (like promos) to let customers easily identify official company communication. An icon system can also help customers understand which service is affected or being discussed in the advisory (e.g. a TV icon for Verizon TV interruptions). A date can also be included to let readers know the recency of the announcement and reduce miscommunication or confusion with past or future posts.


Twitter Advisory

— There will be new imagery that will accompany advisories or announcements posted on the company's Twitter account. The intent is similar to what was discussed in the previous description.


New Arrivals or Promos

— There will be a new design system for product arrivals or product promos that should look more on-brand. The product's brand and name will be shown alongside the suggested/promoted Vodafone plan. Brand colours, typeface, and logo must be maintained to strengthen the identity.


App UI Redesign

— While the original 'My Vodafone' app is already packed with useful features and an at-a-glance philosophy, the new app will take those strengths and double down on a cleaner and clearer design.


Design System for Plans/Packages

— There will be a new design system that will be used when displaying promoted plans and packages. The monthly price and plan name will be shown alongside the 'open-outline' version of the Vodafone logo. This iconography was chosen because it is already being used by the brand in existing materials. For the application, I provided a sample poster (left) promoting the new iPhone XS paired with the Unlimited Mobile plan. Color and plan variations (right) have also been provided to show the design system's adaptability and scalability.


This is a personal project, developed only for the purposes of my portfolio.
